Hummus and caramelized almond sandwich




_ INGREDIENTS


5 mL (1 tsp.) brown sugar

60 mL (¼ cup) slivered almonds

6 radishes, thinly sliced (marinated* if you like)

60 mL (¼ cup) black olives, sliced

To taste, arugula

180 mL (¾ cup) plain hummus

4 Berber fig breads


_ DIRECTIONS

Sauté almonds in a hot skillet for about 2 minutes until toasted. Add 

brown sugar and allow mixture to caramelize.

Spread an equal amount of hummus onto each Berber bread and 

garnish with black olives, sliced radish, caramelized almonds, and a 

few arugula leaves.

For maximum flavour, grill the sandwiches.
