_ INGREDIENTS
15 mL (1 tbsp.) mayonnaise, divided
1 loaf of bread, about 500-600 g
½ romaine lettuce
15 mL (1 tbsp.) Dijon mustard, divided
175 g thinly sliced turkey (about 10-12 slices)
250 g Oka L’Artisan cheese, cut into 10-12 thin slices, divided
1 avocado, thinly sliced
1 tomato, sliced
175 g thinly sliced ham (about 10-12 slices)
To taste, fresh basil leaves (optional)
6-8 toothpicks
One pinch black pepper
_ DIRECTIONS
Cut top off loaf and remove bread from inside, leaving 2 cm (1 in.)
inside the crust.
Fill inside of loaf with ingredients in this order: half the mayonnaise
and Dijon mustard, lettuce, half the cheese, and then the remaining
ingredients, finishing with remaining cheese.
Season with pepper before spreading with remaining mayonnaise and
mustard. Replace top of loaf and hold it in place with toothpicks.
Refrigerate at least 15 minutes before cutting it into pieces and
serving.
